Masonic Park

Whakahounga a te Papa Masonic

Masonic Park Upgrade

We have given Masonic Park a makeover to create an inviting place for people to stop by, dine, or pass through from the waterfront to our future civic precinct, Te Manawataki o Te Papa. Now complete, the area includes green spaces with shade, shelter and a variety of seating options.

Why are we doing this?

Work is underway to revitalise our city centre so it becomes a place where people from near and far want to visit, learn, live, work and play.

This includes creating a destination waterfront in the heart of our city with lots of activities in, on and around the water to complement our new civic precinct - Te Manawataki o Te Papa.

The new civic precinct includes a new library and community hub, a civic whare (public meeting space), museum and exhibition gallery, and will be a drawcard for visitors from near and far, with so much to see and experience.

The upgraded Masonic Park will contribute to the vibrancy of our city centre and provide a vital connection between the future civic precinct, Te Manawataki o Te Papa and the Tauranga Moana waterfront.
